HOHER PRIVACY
Updated 26 October 2026 · current test build
About this game
HOHER is a free, ad-free game created by Arcade North for the DAUMEN community. Arcade North is the independent UK developer responsible for personal information used to operate the game.
For privacy questions or requests, email arcadenorth@gmail.com. Please do not send your recovery key.
Playing and saving scores
You can play without choosing a nickname or joining the online leaderboard. Your browser stores personal bests, Moon progress, tutorial status, settings and a randomly generated installation secret used for player access.
Choosing a nickname or ANON creates or reuses a persistent online player. We store player and installation identifiers, access-credential hashes, your nickname or ANON, submitted scores and run details. These include height, completion time, game version, jumps, landings, submission dates and score-review information.
Your nickname or ANON, rank, best height or Moon time and a score-entry identifier are public. Other people can copy them. ANON does not make your records anonymous. Avoid personal information in nicknames.
Player registration does not ask for your real name, email, address, password or wallet details. You do not have to submit scores to keep playing.
Browser storage and recovery
HOHER uses localStorage and IndexedDB to remember progress, settings, player access, pending scores and submission receipts. A secure player-session cookie can last up to one year. Other browser data normally remains until the game updates or removes it, or you or your browser clear it. Browser and Home Screen installations may have separate storage.
Your private recovery key allows you to restore or combine players. The database stores a key hash and recovery-operation details; the server can regenerate the current key using a protected server secret. SHARE KEY passes the key to your device's share menu and the destination you choose.
Save keys privately. Clearing browser data can lose player access; it does not delete server records. A key cannot recover a score that never reached the server.
Why we use information
We rely on legitimate interests in providing saved progress and recovery, optional public rankings, fair play, security and responses to enquiries. We use information to meet legal obligations when handling statutory privacy requests.
Automatic score checks can reject invalid results or hold them for review. Contact us if you believe a result was handled incorrectly.
Optional SUPPORT HOHER payments
SUPPORT HOHER is a voluntary tip, not a payment to unlock the game or a charitable donation. You do not need a HOHER account. The current test version does not take real money.
When you continue to payment, the separate support page loads Stripe’s secure wallet-payment and fraud-prevention tools. Stripe and your wallet or bank process payment information, transaction details, IP address and device/security information. They may process billing or contact details supplied by your wallet or required for payment checks. We do not request an email, phone number, shipping address or full billing address through our payment form. Additional bank or wallet checks may still be needed.
Card details go directly through Stripe’s payment tools. HOHER’s server does not receive or store full card numbers, security codes, wallet passwords or biometric authentication information. Arcade North can access payment references, amounts, dates, statuses and limited payment or billing information made available in Stripe for payment administration and disputes. We do not link support payments to leaderboard players.
The browser keeps a temporary payment-attempt identifier, selected amount and timestamp in sessionStorage to avoid duplicate payments on retries. Attempts are reusable for up to 20 hours; the tab’s data normally clears when its session ends. Stripe may use its own security storage on the support page. Stripe does not load on the gameplay page.
Arcade North is responsible for its use of support-payment records. Stripe processes some information on our instructions and is separately responsible for its own fraud prevention, financial-services and legal obligations, as explained in Stripe’s privacy policy. Apple, Google and your bank also have their own privacy practices. We rely on legitimate interests to accept voluntary support and handle payment issues, and legal obligations for required accounting records.
Hosting and other services
Cloudflare hosts HOHER and stores online player information in D1. It receives technical request information, including your IP address. The game uses hashed request identifiers for rate limiting; raw IP addresses are not stored in its player or run tables. Cloudflare may retain technical information for operating and protecting its services.
The game contains no advertising or third-party analytics scripts.
If you email us, Google processes your email address and message through Gmail. Following an external link or choosing an external sharing app involves that service's own privacy practices.
Cloudflare, Google and Stripe may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Their published terms describe protections such as adequacy arrangements and contractual safeguards where applicable: Cloudflare, Google and Stripe. Contact us for information about the arrangements applying to HOHER and how to obtain the relevant safeguards.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep online player and leaderboard records while HOHER operates and they remain needed to provide saved players, recovery and rankings, subject to valid deletion requests. Our retention policy is to review older run and moderation evidence annually and retain it where needed to validate rankings, investigate cheating or handle disputes. Our policy is to delete routine enquiry emails within 12 months after resolution, keeping necessary records longer for an unresolved complaint, dispute or legal obligation. Payment records are kept for applicable accounting requirements and payment disputes; Stripe also retains records for its own legal and security duties. The game currently has no automatic expiry for inactive players or older runs.
PLAYER OPTIONS → DELETE PLAYER removes your world scores, submitted runs, recovery record and associated moderation history, clears your nickname and disables the player. Limited disabled-player and revoked-credential information remains to prevent old credentials reviving the deleted player. Our policy is to review the need for this security record annually; it may remain necessary while old installations could reconnect.
Local personal bests, settings and some submission receipts remain on your device. Older copies may remain temporarily in Cloudflare's recovery history. Active deletion does not immediately erase every backup.
Your rights and complaints
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or restrict its use, where the relevant right applies.
You can object to our use of your information for legitimate interests.
Email arcadenorth@gmail.com. We may need proportionate proof that a player record belongs to you; do not email a recovery key. Rights requests are normally answered within one calendar month, subject to lawful extensions or pauses.
You can also complain to us. We acknowledge privacy complaints within 30 days and respond without undue delay. You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator.
Public-release identification and provider arrangements are still being finalised.
